New Kick-Fit Classes

The Valley Taekwondo is keen to share the enjoyment of Taekwondo with as many people as possible. This new Thursday class, geared towards adults, is a step forward in doing that.

Who is it for?

"Its an adult's only class for beginners (both men & women) who want a novel way of getting fit and learning a bit of self defence."

What it is?

"Its a way for our club to promote Taekwondo to ‘20 somethings ‘ by using loads of amazing Taekwondo kicks in an enjoyable way so as to improve your fitness as only martial art kicks can......but without having to knock each other out!"

What it is not.

"Its not a dance or aerobics class but a proper Taekwondo class with real techniques by qualifiedinstructors listed with Sport NI. But it will work on your stamina, strength, suppleness and speed."

Payment.

"You pay £20 for an introductory 6 weeks offer which includes Valley Taekwondo Club membership. After that you carry on with the Thurs class (£3 per class) learning more difficult kicks or join in the Tues class as well and start doing the syllabus for belts if you wish."

NI POOMSAE OPEN SUCCESS

It was great news from the NI Open Poomsae Championships held on Sat. 5th June 2010 in Queen's PEC, Belfast with a range of medals including golds being picked up.

The competition attracted competitors from all over GB and R. of Ireland, with national team members setting the standards.

MEATH MEDAL SUCCESS

The new competition season got off to a great start with one of our up-and–coming ‘junior age group’ fighters picking silver in his first fight.  Sat 28th Feb saw NI squad novice and development fighters compete in the Meath Open kyorugi competition.

For most this was their first fight and the rest only their second or third. So not really knowing the score added to their nervousness. But that soon changed to smiles when all of the local fighters picked up a medal!

Kyorugi is the Olympic combat sporting side of Taekwondo. It is a dynamic, fast action display of superb, movie style kicks. It takes effort and dedication to go all the way to the top but through the NI Kyorugi Squad Training we hope to get people to 2012!
